THE BOOK SHOW: Culture Night recording to be broadcast on Saturday 17th September at 7pm RTE Radio 1
We speak to crime writers Liz Nugent, Arlene Hunt and Declan Hughes about the genre and they read a very special short story written for the night.
We also hear from Mike McCormack about his new novel Solar Bones and are treated to a special performance by Crash Ensemble string quartet and Adrian Crowley of a short story, The Dead Hotel, set to music and performed live in front of out Culture Night audience.
INSIDE CULTURE: Culture Night recording to be broadcast on Monday 19th September at 10pm RTE Radio 1
The theme for this evening is Identity. Fionn Davenport discuss Identity with a panel of people: Emma Dabiri (cultural commentator and visual sociologist), Chris Kissane (Historian and BBC New Generation Thinker) and writer Peter Murphy.
We invited responses to this topic from geneticist Aoife McLysaght, writer Colm Keegan on our voice as an identifier, broadcaster and human rights and transitional justice worker Louise Williams on identity theft and essayist Mark O’Connell on transhumanism and the augmenting our bodies.
It promises to be an unmissable insight into the cultural layers which make up our identities.
